Ylang Ylang Oil Overview

Ylang ylang (pronounced eelang) essential oil comes the yellow or pink flower of the ylang ylang tree. The smell is sweet, floral and a little heavy. The oil itself has a yellow color. Ylang ylang oil is popular with the perfume and cosmetic manufactures due to its sweet floral smell.

In some countries, ylang ylang flowers were strewn on beds before wedding nights and many associate it with Valentine’s Day and honeymoons.

If you or your partner need a little help in the bedroom getting into the mood, or actually have sexual problems such as a decreased libido or impotence, try ylang ylang oil. Add a little to a diffuser in your bedroom before you head to bed. You could also add a few drops to about half a cup of massage oil and start your evening by giving your partner a sensual massage.

Ylang ylang oil helps to fight day-to-day depression. Release a few drops into a diffuser as you go about your day. You could also add a few drops to a bath to help you feel better after a rough day. If your depression lasts longer than a few days or you feel it’s severe, please contact your care provider.

Ylang ylang oil helps to ease both oily and dry skin. Add a drop to a little lotion to help with dry skin. With oily skin, mix a drop into warm water and use to wash the face after cleansing.
