Dieters are always looking for ways to speed up weight loss and quickly reduce body fat. While there is no miracle weight loss diet, there are foods that can greatly contribute to long lasting results. The following list of fat burning foods can help dieters to better plan their meals and speed their metabolism for faster weight loss.

Fat Burning Grains

Contrary to popular belief, grains can help the body to burn fat quicker. Whole grains are high in fiber, once again contributing to a long-lasting feeling of fullness in the stomach. Eating whole grains for breakfast first thing in the morning provides the body with a boost in energy and speeds up the metabolism throughout the day. To lose body fat with whole grains, dieters should consume oats and whole grain cereal.

Fat Burning Fruits and Vegetables

Many fruits contain pectin which is a soluble fiber. Pectin is a calorie-free nutrient, found in apples, strawberries, peaches and other fruits. Pectin helps the stomach to stay full longer. Studies have shown that eating an apple prior to each meal helps people to consume less calories and lose more weight. Fruits that are high in dietary fiber also have this effect. Some fruits with a high fiber content include berries, such as raspberries, blueberries and blackberries.

Vegetables are extremely effective in contributing to fat burning, as they contain dietary fiber. People who eat lots of high fiber vegetables tend to see a quicker weight loss, due to a full feeling which results in eating less food. High fiber vegetables include broccoli, avocados, spinach, peas and leafy greens.

Spicy vegetables, such as peppers, contain capsaicin. Capsaicin is a fat burning chemical that speeds up the body’s metabolism. This results in better digestion and quicker fat burning. Capsaicin is found in habenero peppers, jalapeno peppers, chili peppers and cayenne.

Meat for Burning off Body Fat

Lean meats are great for fat burning. High protein foods, such as chicken breasts, lean ground beef and turkey, are heavy and cause the stomach to feel full for longer periods of time. The body needs to work hard to digest proteins, meaning that it burns off more calories just through digestion of meats. Fish also provides a fat burning effect, due to its ability to reduce leptin levels. Lower leptin levels equal a higher rate of fat loss. The oils found in fish help to reduce cravings, making fat loss easier for dieters. Lean, healthy fish for fat burning include tuna, salmon and sardines.

Other Foods that Help to Burn Body Fat

There are other foods that can aid in weight loss and reduce stubborn body fat. Dairy products have been shown to double the rate of weight loss when compared to diets with very low amounts of dairy. Dieters should drink low-fat milk and and eat low-fat yogurt to receive the benefits of dairy and provide a full feeling due to high amounts of complex carbohydrates.

Olive oil can also contribute to healthy weight loss. Olive oil provides healthy fats to the body and reduces cholestoral levels. Replacing butter and margarine with olive oil makes fat loss easier for the body, along with supplying the healthy fats that help to curb cravings and provide energy.

Using the list of fat burning foods, it is easier to plan meals that are guaranteed to speed up the metabolism and increase the body’s rate of weight loss. Dieters should always choose the foods that provide high levels of dietary fiber, along with essential vitamins and minerals. When combined with exercise, these foods can maximise results in less time than it would take to lose weight on a regular diet.
