Migraine Headache Problems

Migraine headaches are serious problems for many people. They can be so painful that normal activities are not possible. For others, the migraine can trigger nausea and aggression if not treated quickly. The person suffers with this pain for a period of time extending to hours. In addition, the individual will experience photo, noise and scent sensitivities, making it impossible for them to go into public without experiencing further pain. There are many reasons that a person may experience a migraine headache. The primary factor would be an allergy to certain foods or additives. Dehydration, lack of caffeine in addicted individuals, and a lack of carbohydrates can also cause migraine headaches. Correcting these problems is the idea behind using a natural cure for migraine headaches.

Immediate Actions

If you feel a migraine headache coming on, the faster you receive treatment, the faster the migraine will pass. If you feel a migraine headache coming on, consider eating something that includes some carbohydrates. This can be fruit, pasta or a candy bar. This can often be enough to keep the headache from fully forming. While finding something to eat, pour yourself a glass of water and drink that. If the migraine was triggered by dehydration, a single glass of water can help to keep it at bay but additional water will be needed to keep it away. Once a glass of water has been had, consider drinking a glass of soda or a cup of coffee in case the migraine was caused by a lack of caffeine. If you have been drinking soda all day, it will probably be due to dehydration though.

Pressure for Pressure

Acupuncture pressure points can be used to help eliminate a migraine headache. This does not necessitate any needles being inserted into an individual though. Instead, the depression of pressure points by a person’s fingers can work to relieve a headache. The most common migraine killer is the pressing of the area just above the nose and the area just below the head of the individual for a count of ten. Once this count is done, remove the pressure slowly for a count of ten. Another common pressure point is the webbing between the thumb and the first finger. Having someone press that for a period of five minutes is initially painful and often feels like fighting pain with pain, but once they release it is known to feel very good. This has been a long used and understood natural cure for migraine headaches.

Environmental Change

If nothing is working to stop the migraine headache, move to a dark and quiet room. Remain there. This room should not have any aromatherapy being used in it. Lay down in the room and relax. Close your eyes and try to go to sleep. This may feel like an impossible task, but laying quietly can help to calm the migraine headache and will eventually allow you to fall sleep. This sleep will help to calm the headache and may correct the migraine problem if the condition was caused by a lack of sleep or an increase in stress.
