Dehydration

Chronic dehydration is one of the most common conditions that is continuously overlooked and ignored. Dehydration occurs when the body does not have enough water to function properly. In some cases, it is a temporary situation that occurs after another condition creates it such as an infant with diarrhea. In chronic dehydration, the body that is composed of almost 75% water does not have the proper amount of water that is necessary on a regular, long-term basis.

Pain From Dehydration

Many times the pain that a person feels is actually a signal that a part of your body is dehydrated. Over time these pains turn into other unhealthy conditions that eventually lead to disease. Your body requires water for many various body functions on a continuous basis and if it doesn’t have enough, it has to pull what it needs from other areas of the body. Dehydration causes the activity of the enzymes in the tissues to slow down creating a lack of energy and fatigue. Signs of dehydration also include constipation and other digestive disorders which are common because there is not enough water in the colon to digest the food properly. Chronic dehydration can lead to high or low blood pressure, respiratory troubles, ph imbalances, obesity, eczema, high cholesterol, UTI’s, premature aging and rheumatism.

Reversing Chronic Dehydration

Chronic dehydration is a condition that is easily reversed. By consuming enough water every single day, many unhealthy conditions you experience may disappear quite quickly. You should be drinking half your body weight in ounces of water every day for optimum health. This does not mean any liquid like soda or tea. It must be water. Most other liquids contain caffeine or alcohol which are diuretics and make you need even more water. Caffeine intoxication is one of the main causes of chronic dehydration today due to the addiction to soda and energy drinks that is prevalent. You should also make sure to increase your water intake if you exercise or it is particularly hot weather.
