Why is Fruit Nutrition Important for Athletes?

Fruits tend to hold a wealth of antioxidants and essential vitamins that athletes need in order to stay healthy and fit. For athletes, the body is in a high stress mode due to the physical activities. This even includes individuals that do aerobics a few times a week or ride bicycles. These do not seem like they are high impact or over exerting but they are. All physical activity provides a certain degree of stress.

This type of stress is not bad. It is very good. This is what allows the body to function properly and become more agile. Without it the systems of the body slow, and possibly fail. The immune, respiratory, cardio, and digestive systems all need the vital nutrients that fruit nutrition provides.

Antioxidants, such as vitamins A, C, and E, boost the natural clean up process in our blood and build a strong resistance. These can all be found via fruit nutrition. Because physical activity takes a toll on our bodies these important elements get rid of free radicals that can seriously harm or kill us. They also help to keep us from contracting infections and illnesses that we pick up along the way. Whether your territory of choice is the gym, out in the fields, or up close and personal in high contact sports, protecting yourself against dangerous germs is mandatory to stay healthy.
