Having owned other juicers in the past, I know that juicers designed for home use are often made of poor-quality materials, leading to machine malfunctions or broken parts. Juicing fruits and vegetables is hard work and requires a machine made of durable materials with a strong motor.

Jack LaLanne’s Power Juicer Deluxe is a high-quality item built for dependability. Made of stainless steel and thick molded plastic, all components on the juicer are impressively sturdy. As with all Jack LaLanne juicers, the Deluxe features a 3600 RPM Induction Motor with a lifetime warranty. The machine is sleek in design and handsome enough to enhance a kitchen’s decor.

The Power Juicer Deluxe is designed to extract the maximum amount of juice from your food - up to 30% more juice than other juicers, according to the official Power Juicer website. You can also use the nutritious pulp left after juicing in delicious ways. A recipe booklet accompanies the juicer with recipes utilizing the pulp, such as Honey Zucchini Bread and Orange Cranberry Muffins.

I used the Power Juicer Deluxe to make juice from carrots, apples, celery, and ginger. After washing the food, I cut it to fit down the shaft of the juicer. The apples were cut in fourths (no coring) and the carrots, celery, and ginger went in whole. The juicer made quick work of the ingredients and produced a delicious glass of juice. The food pulp was entirely contained in the pulp component and did not get into the juice. The spout directed the juice into my glass without dripping or leaking.

Now, of course, I had to clean the juicer. Luckily, every removable part on the Power Juicer Deluxe is dishwasher-safe. I gave each piece a rinse in the sink and placed them in the dishwasher. Although the juicer parts took up a lot of space in my dishwasher I appreciated the convenience of not having to hand-wash.
