The following are the dangers of flu vaccine ingredients:
In 1928, 12 of 21 children died after receiving a diphtheria vaccine. It was discovered the children died from the vaccine because it was contaminated with a bacteria.
Now, to prevent contamination, a preservative is used. Thimerosal, an antiseptic and antifungal agent, is used in certain vaccines, including some flu shots.
Multi-dose vials, because they are punctured repeatedly, are required to have a preservative. However, despite the presence of a preservative, there are several reports of contamination.
Preservatives are not needed in single-dose vials. These are more expensive and in limited supply.
The intranasal flu vaccine (FluMist) does not contain any preservatives.
Thimerosal is an organic compound that, once in the body, is metabolized to ethylmercury. It is highly toxic when inhaled, ingested, or when it comes in contact with the skin. It is suspected by some to cause or increase ones risk of developing attention deficit disorder, autism, multiple sclerosis, and Alzheimer’s disease.
Few studies have been done regarding toxic effects of thimerosal on humans. Because of concerns by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), National Institutes of Health (NIH), Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), and the American Academy of Pediatrics, thimerosal has been removed (or reduced to trace amounts) in routine childhood vaccines.
In some flu vaccines, formaldehyde is used to inactivate (kill) the virus. Afterwards, it is removed (purified) from the solution but trace amounts of this toxic chemical can remain. Formaldehyde has been classified by the International Agency for Research on Cancer as a known human carcinogen.
Other ingredients that can cause danger include:
Octoxynol-10 (also known as Triton X-100) - A strong detergent that contains traces of toxins and can promote tumors.
Sodium deoxycholate - Another detergent that can promote tumors.
Polysorbate 80 - A chemical similar to detergents. After injection, it can quickly metabolize into more toxic chemicals (sorbitol and ethylene oxide) and can cause dangerous effects.
Beta-propiolactone - A carcinogenic in liquid form and suspected skin, respiratory, gastrointestinal, and liver toxicant.
