Find a Home Remedy for Feminine Odor & Itching

Feminine odor and itching can be caused by a few different problems, including improper hygiene like not washing enough or washing too much, and infections such as yeast infections and sexually transmitted diseases. If an infection is the cause, it will need to be treated.
Bathe daily and after strenuous activity to help keep odors at bay. Showers are preferred over baths, and the soap you use should be gentle and unscented. Feminine products containing chemicals, such as sprays and wipes, should be avoided and so should douching. Feminine products only cover the problem and can also irritate the delicate mucus membranes of the vagina. Douching can wash away vaginal secretions that are needed to self clean the vagina and it can force bacteria into the reproductive system causing infections in the cervix, uterus, fallopian tubes, and ovaries. Finding a home remedy for feminine odor and itching is a safer and more effective treatment.
Home Remedies
Yogurt
Yogurt that contains live and active cultures is an excellent remedy in treating and preventing feminine odor and itching related to yeast infections. The good bacteria in yogurt can eliminate the overgrowth of yeast. Eating yogurt can help treat the problem and, including it in your daily diet, can help prevent future problems. For fast relief, yogurt can also be inserted into the vagina. Before going to bed, insert about 1 to 2 ounces of yogurt (plain yogurt only) into your vagina using a syringe and rub some yogurt on the outside area of the vagina. Some of the yogurt may leak out while you sleep so you may want to wear a light unscented pad.
Garlic
Garlic is a powerful herb with anti-fungal properties. It can be included in the diet to treat and prevent yeast infections. If you do not wish to eat garlic, you can take garlic supplements. You can also use garlic in the vagina. Before going to bed, peel a clove of garlic and insert into the vagina. In the morning, remove the garlic clove and discard.
Tea Tree Oil
Tea tree oil is another wonderful home remedy for feminine odor and itching. It also has anti-fungal properties. You can either use a natural soap made of tea tree oil to cleanse your vaginal area or you can add a few drops of the oil in water and use this mixture to wash with.
Other
Wear cotton panties. Cotton absorbs moisture and also allows the vaginal area to “breathe”. Avoid wearing tight clothing, including tight pants, leotards, and pantyhose. Avoid harsh laundry detergents, bubble baths, tampons, and colored scented toilet tissue. After using the bathroom, always wipe from the front to the back.
If the above home remedies do not work in three days, if the condition worsens, if pregnant, or if you are experiencing other symptoms, consult with your health care provider_._
