Golf Clubs

Lots of men enjoy the occasional round of golf. It’s relaxing, let’s you spend some time outdoors and gives your some great exercise. If you don’t have a lot of money to spend, it’s not a problem at all. Just pick up one specialty club such as a driver or a putter. If you are going midrange in price, consider buying a new set of irons rather than the full set.

Tips: Golf clubs often require custom fitting. However, if you know the height of the guy you are buying for, the person at the golf store should be able to help you pick out a good club. Also, to figure reach and angle of the clubs, any suit or fitted shirt should give you an accurate measurement. If you are still unsure, a gift certificate to a sporting goods store would do the trick.

2nd Option: If the guy has recently purchased a new set of golf clubs, a season pass to a local golf course is always a good idea. It’s not cheap to golf. It costs $20+ each time you go golfing. However, many courses sell a season pass for around $150 that will give you unlimited golfing for the year.

Nike + iPod

If the guy is an avid runner or takes a jog a couple of times a week, Nike + iPod would be a great tool to have. Nike markets several wearable sports kits for iPods. They all have the same major component: they allow you to track your progress as you run in about every way possible. The Nike kit keeps track of the time you have been exercising, the distance you have traveled, calories burned, pace, plus it has a built-in personal trainer to help improve your workouts. After you are done, you can sync it with your computer and it will keep track of all your data.

Shoes

Shoes are a great gift that you know a guy will use. If the guy goes to the gym with his buddies to play basketball, get him a new pair of basketball shoes. If he enjoys playing tennis, get him some new tennis shoes.

Recommendation: If you are looking for a good all-around shoe, check out the Reebok cross-trainer line and the Nike Shox.

Tickets

You’ll come to find that most guys who are highly athletic are also sports fans. Search ahead of time to find a good deal on tickets to a baseball game or football game of his favorite team.

Gym Pass

A gym pass would make a great gift for a guy that is a fitness/weight lifting guru. If you are on a budget, no problem, as many local gyms are on a month-to-month basis. Just purchase a couple months of gym time.

Still Don’t Know?

Every guy is different. Most will be happy no matter what you get them. If you are still stuck for an idea, think of something that they already own that they like. Chances are that it has become oudated, and companies are always making a new improved version.
