How to Use Patchouli Oil

Add 2 to 3 drops of the oil to a bowl of hot steaming water. Drape a towel over your head and breathe in the steam (the towel will help capture the steam). Do this for a few minutes. Be careful not to burn yourself from the steam.
Vaporization
Add the oil to a nebulizing diffuser.
Massage
Mix 15 to 20 drops of patchouli oil in 1 ounce of carrier oil (common carrier oils include sweet almond oil, olive oil, coconut oil, jojoba oil, apricot kernel oil, and grapeseed oil).
Bath
Add 4 to 6 drops of oil to hot bathwater along with a dispersant (like milk) to break up the oil on the water surface.
Spray
Add 1 teaspoon of oil and 1 ounce of 90% isopropyl alcohol or vodka to 7 ounces of distilled water. Use as a room spray or spray on bedding, etc.
Mixing with Other Essential Oils
Patchouli oil mixes well with rose, lavender, myrrh, geranium, clary sage, and bergamot.
