The Whole Idea

There are countless weight loss tips to take advantage of, but they are not all created equal. For example, some techniques focus on the physical aspects of losing weight while others are more food based methods. Being able to incorporate exercise and healthy eating into your daily life is the best way to lead a healthy, happy life - so these tips and tricks can be quite helpful. This great list of ways to incorporate more fruits and vegetables into your diet can go hand in hand with other techniques you are currently using to lose weight.

Be Colorful

It is very important to eat a variety of fruits and vegetables of all colors in order to get the best range of vitamins and nutrients. Red, green, white, orange, and yellow vegetables should be incorporated into daily eating plans, and the same goes for fruits. Fruit salads are easy to put together; stirring together frozen fruits with low fat yogurt makes a quick, easy, and delicious treat on a hot sunny day.

When it comes to veggies, it is simply a matter of using new varieties in favorite meals. For example, consider including some spinach and orange bell peppers in pasta sauce, or creating a side dish of green beans, carrots, and red cabbage roasted with a whole chicken in the oven. Pasta salad is the perfect dish to experiment with when it comes to adding vegetables to menus. Olives, mushrooms, garlic, bok choy, corn, ginger, and celery are all healthy options.

Cut Back on the Meat

Beef

You don’t have to become a vegetarian, but cutting back on meat intake gives you an opportunity to consume more fruits and vegetables. For example, instead of using beef on homemade taco salads, add avocados, black beans, and green beans instead. Come up with new recipes highlighting veggies such as portabella mushrooms stuffed with artichoke hearts, asparagus and cabbage, or a potato casserole that boasts corn, broccoli, and cheddar cheese instead of chicken or beef.

Don’t be afraid to use spices and seasonings which help to make veggie dishes rich and flavorful. Fresh basil, oregano, garlic, ginger, nutmeg, and even cinnamon can make a huge difference when it comes to adding flavor and excitement to just about any dish.

Make your Own Dressings

Salad

Eating plenty of salad daily is one of the most important weight reduction tips to follow because salads help fill you up, they provide lots of fiber, and they are a must in any healthy diet. In order to make the most of salad intake, it is important to change it up a bit so things don’t get too boring.

Use a number of seasonings and oils to dress salads and side dishes in order to make them more enjoyable. Some options are canola oil, olive oil, balsamic vinegar, garlic, basil, red pepper flakes, cayenne pepper, chopped olives, lemons, or limes. Infusing these ingredients together to suit your taste helps create a number of different dressings that can be used on salads and steamed veggies.
