Trampolines and mini trampolines are a lot of fun, but they also offer a great lower-impact workout. Routines are easy on the joints and highly effective, plus they’re an ideal way to shake up your workout routine. And, since the workout on a trampoline is enjoyable, even people who don’t like other forms of exercise can enjoy a trampoline exercise routine.

Trampoline exercising is also called rebounding.

Basic Trampoline Exercise Routine

  • Exercise barefoot or wear shoes with non-slip soles to avoid injury.

  • Practice jumping on your trampoline before you begin your first workout. It’s important that you are comfortable using the trampoline and understand what to expect when you jump on it.

  • Always warm up for a few minutes before beginning higher-intensity exercises. You can do this by simply jogging gently in place on the trampoline. Try to avoid lifting the toes off the trampoline during your warm-up jog. This helps your muscles to become warmed up and comfortable with the rebounding motion.

  • When you begin the more strenuous part of the routine, you can speed up the jog and begin lifting your feet a few inches off the trampoline. Be sure you’re using a jogging motion, in which you alternate your feet, always keeping one on the trampoline. You don’t want to jump at this point. Be sure to get your arms pumping as this will help to increase your heart rate and make the workout more effective.

  • For the next level of the workout, increase the intensity even more. Bring your feet together and begin bouncing in the middle of the trampoline. Be sure to keep your feet together as you complete this exercise.

  • Then begin alternating kicks as you bounce, bringing forward one leg at a time and touching your heel to the trampoline in front of you.

  • You can also do jumping jacks on the trampoline. Doing so offers the same benefits as regular jumping jacks, but with much less impact on your joints.
