Dr. Schulz revealed that such medications as Risperdal and Zyprexa were effective medications that were found to improve the psychiatric symptoms and overall global functioning of borderline personality disorder patients.

Zyprexa Drug Treatment for BPD Found to Help Substantially
Dr. Schulz’s studies also revealed the incredible enhancements to a borderline personality disorder patient’s life with the use of the drug, Zyprexa. In the study from the March ‘02 Journal of Psychiatry he showed how his trials proved that by using Zyprexa trial subjects saw significant reductions in their symptoms of depression as well as a marked improvement in their ability to handle anger and anxiety. Episodes of psychotic behavior were remarkably lowered.
Although these studies were performed in 2002 they have been adopted and often considered to be the answer as to which medications work best for borderline personality disorder patients. Research has also revealed that drug treatments combined with psychotherapy, cognitive therapy, and behavioral therapy proved to be the best treatment for the disorder .
