What is Hidradenitis Suppurative?

The term Hidradenitis Suppurative (hi-drad-uh-NI-tis sup-u-ra-TI-va) is the medical title for a reoccurring inflammation of the skin. The condition starts as grouping of blackheads that turn into reddened and tender lesions on the skin. These lesions become swollen with pus and often break open to drain blood as well.

The blackheads begin deep within the skin, forming around the hair follicles and oil glands at their base. As the lesions grow and break open, the resulting drainage can cause more lesions to form if not properly kept clean. It is often that these lesions can leave scaring and are often concentrated to the groin area and armpits of the body as these areas are the body’s main points for sweat glands. Hidradenitis suppurative is also considered to be an extreme form of acne because of the nature of the lesion development and starting area.

In addition to traditional medical treatments for this condition, we are going to go over some hidradenitis suppurative home remedies to help give some relief to those who suffer from this aliment. Topical Home Remedies

The term “topical” refers to the surface of the human body and in this case will mean to apply to the surface of the skin. These hidradenitis suppurative home remedies are all meant to be placed on the skin to the affected area, none of these remedies are for consumption.

Each of the following is to be tried one at a time and may have to be tried in repeated attempts just as any topical medication would have to be tried to repair skin and clear an infection. The effectiveness of each of the remedies will depend of the repetition of use and the dedication of the user to keep the surrounding skin clean.
