Honey & Cinnamon

Honey and cinnamon both have some powerful healing properties. Honey has been used as food and medicine since ancient times. It contains flavonoids, antioxidants and enzymes to promote healing. It has antibacterial, antiviral, antifungal and anti-inflammatory properties. Honey is a great energy source, boosts the immune system, can benefit those with high cholesterol and type 2 diabetes, is used to treat wounds and has been shown to be more effective than the drug dextromethorphan when suppressing coughs in children ages 2 to 18.

Cinnamon, one of the oldest spices known, has also been used as a medicine for centuries, dating back to 2,700 B.C. and was once considered more precious than gold. It is a very good source of fiber, iron and calcium and has anti-clotting, anti-inflammatory and anti-microbial properties. It has the ability to stop the growth of bacteria and fungi, can help prevent atherosclerosis and heart disease, can benefit those with type 2 diabetes, can help protect the colon and, just by smelling it, can boost brain activity.
