Marie Pence is a veteran colon hydrotherpist of 35 years who has studied under some of the pioneers of natural health including Ann Wigmore, author of The Hippocrates Diet and founder of the world renowned Hippocrates Health Institute. She was trained in the Wood method of colon hydrotherapy by none other than Dr. Bernard Jensen himself!! If you are familiar at all with colon cleansing you may well have read any number of his books on the subject.
I found myself a bit nervous before receiving my first colonic mainly because I had no idea what to expect. I took a ferry to see Marie because of her expertise and boy was the extra effort worth it! I was greeted by Marie herself who is short on size and extra tall on personality. Her health is vibrant and her energy radiant. She is an absolute wealth of knowledge and wisdom which will calm the most nervous of spirits. Her technique is very gentle. She is completely matter of fact and one will never have a chance to doubt that she is totally confident in the procedure of colon hydrotherapy. I felt completely reassured about the whole process even though I was a bit nervous about whether I should be having water, lots and lots of water irrigating my large intestine!
The clinic itself is unassuming and run completely by Marie. She is an absolute dear who will not only give you an endless number of helpful health tips if you show a desire to learn them, but also ends up imparting a great amount of the wisdom she has gained throughout her lifetime. I have to say that the entire experience was very relaxing. You will not experience foul smells or feel that you have been stripped of your modesty. She has been doing this for so long that it is definitely second nature to her and her matter of fact technique will have your colon clean as a whistle in no time.
Marie recommends getting a series of 15 colonics to get your colon in tip top shape. The first one runs about $100 and will last about an hour. The follow up sessions are $95 and take about 45 minutes. She runs a tight ship, so get there on time!
