There are several reasons for acid reflux to develop. Let's learn more about the condition as well as acid reflux natural treatments.

Acid reflux disease can be brought on by lying down too soon after eating, a poor diet, esophageal disorders, or too little of the right acids in the stomach. These are correctable either by surgery (in cases where the cause is failure of the digestive system due to damage or deformation ). In most cases, a change of diet, avoiding foods high in trans fats, eating smaller meals (but more frequently), drinking less coffee and wearing looser clothes around the stomach will put a stop to the acid reflux disease. But when all else fails there are acid reflux natural treatments.

    Can It Be Cured?

There are several natural remedies for acid reflux disease. For centuries there have been effective and safe acid reflux natural treatments used in many societies across the world.

Among the best cures for acid reflux disease are unpasteurized apple cider vinegar (mixed with water). In many cases, it works very quickly. Barely grass, wheat grass, chlorella and spirulina can also clear up the disease quickly. They tend to counteract the acid with alkaline and stop the symptoms. Continued drinking of these and other green teas will keep acid reflux disease from coming back, too.

Mastic gum is another popular natural remedy for acid reflux disease. Made from the pistacia lentiscus tree, this resin has been used in the Middle East with good results.

Deglycyrrhizinated Licorice (DGC). This amino acid mixes well with saliva and produces quick relief.

Natural apple cider vinegar, as mentioned earlier, is very effective.

Slippery elm bark soothes the stomach lining and reduces the burning sensation.

Orange peel extract has been used and found effective.

Perhaps the strangest natural remedy for acid reflux disease is pickle juice. It has a soothing effect and works very quickly.

Probiotics, such as yogurt are very good for acid reflux disease, too. The nutritional value in yogurt is an added bonus!

When confronted with the symptoms of acid reflux disease, it’s always best to find out what the cause is before finding a cure. The cure might be as complicated as surgery, but usually it’s as simple as a change in diet and eating habits.
