Love Handles

We all know how frustrating it can be to look at yourself in the mirror and notice there is something keeping you from having that slim waist:love handles. Love handles are annoying and can be very hard to lose if you don’t know what you are doing. Furthermore, there is a common misconception that you must exercise your love handles to get rid of them. This is definitely not true because building them only makes them stick out further. So how should someone get rid of love handles?

Well first, let’s start with the basics. To understand how to get rid of love handles, we have to first know what they are. They are like magnets and they love to attract fat. Love handles are an accumulation of fat that is congested around your waist and are visible on the sides of your body. Some people develop love handles because their bodies are programmed to store fat in the middle of their bodies rather than other places. Unfortunately, mother nature decides where our fat goes and we have to deal with it.

So, how should someone begin burning off these love handles? First, you will need to work on your diet and start exercising more. You should begin by consuming fewer overall calories. Figure out how many total calories you need, then divide that into 6 meals a day with about 2-3 hours between each meal. You should be taking in higher amounts of protein and lower amounts of sugar. You should not completely take fat out of your diet, but rather replace it with healthier ones like those in fish and peanuts. Finally, you should replace all sodas with water. Think carefully about any calories you eat before you eat them.

While diet is a major part of getting rid of love handles, another important factor is exercising. Exercise stimulates the metabolism and helps to build muscle. To lose your love handles, your body has to lose fat. Exercising will greatly enhance the rate at which your love handles are burned off. The best way to do this is though weight training. You should begin by doing full body workouts with lots of compound movements. A good rule is to do 12-15 total sets and be in and out in under an hour. You can also supplement this with a cardio training program.

Losing your love handles will require a great deal of effort, but in the end it will be greatly appreciated. Reward yourself by going out to the beach or wearing that shirt that you thought looked bad when you had love handles. Remember that maintaining them will require work as well, so don’t let them grow once you have lost them. Start eating and exercising your way into a new, sexy you!
