    According to an April 2009 interview with Allure Magazine, she says: “Basically, if I’m indulging too much and not exercising enough, I can feel that . . . I can feel a change before I see it. For me, working out is not so I can stay skinny. It’s so that I can keep up my endurance so I’m not panting on stage. Heavy breathing is the worst when you’re in concert. You don’t want to see that, if you’re going to see a show.”

    Swift wants her fans and the public to concentrate solely on her music, not her figure. However, her shape has been a hot topic.     The Raw Food Diet All over the Internet, rumors swirl that Swift maintains a raw food diet. Yet no concrete evidence has surfaced nor has Swift in any interview ever admitted to the diet.

    However, the raw food diet is a favorite of celebrities in the industry. So what exactly is it?

    The raw food diet focuses on unprocessed and uncooked foods such as fruits, vegetables, dried fruits, nuts, seeds, whole grains, beans, sprouts and seaweed. According to raw food followers, food cooked above 116 degrees Fahrenheit loses all its natural nutrients. Raw foodies also believe that cooking destroys digestive enzymes that help absorb food properly. Therefore, food is eaten in its natural state.

    To adhere to the raw food diet and still be healthy, you must be extra careful to take in vital nutrients. According to Web MD, medical experts report followers of this eating plan having B12 vitamin deficiencies, which can lead to neurological damage and anemia. Plasma levels and low bone mass in the lumbar spine and hip areas were also reported problems as well as interruptions in a woman’s menstrual cycle when weight loss is great.

    Therefore, before attempting any raw food diet, it is best to consult your doctor. In order to do the diet correctly, you must receive all the information on what supplement nutrients you will need. For example, if you plan to only eat raw foods, you will not eat dairy, thus losing a large amount of calcium. To substitute for this, Web MD lists this tip from The American Dietetic Association: “Eat at least eight servings a day of calcium-rich foods like bok choy, cabbage, soybeans, tempeh, and figs.”

    It is well-known that Taylor Swift is a lover of yoga and even has her band do yoga sessions with her on the road. Staying in top shape to perform is a major goal for the songstress. The Mayo Clinic says, “Yoga is considered a mind-body type of complementary and alternative medicine practice. Yoga brings together physical and mental disciplines to achieve peacefulness of body and mind, helping you relax and manage stress and anxiety.” It’s no wonder Swift favors the Zen.

    Here are a few other benefits of yoga:

    • Yoga increases your level of fitness, including flexibility and strength. By practicing yoga regularly, you begin to notice the muscles of your body becoming leaner and your overall strength increasing. Abdominal crunches and push-ups may not seem that hard anymore after practicing yoga.
    • Your flexibility will increase. Are you one of those people who can never touch your toes, no matter how hard you try? Yoga gives you the ability to stretch and reach. Your body lengthens and stretches farther than you could ever imagine during a good yoga workout.
    • Yoga is known to relieve stress. Breathing control aids in relaxing the mind and body, focusing only on the present. The crying baby, the endless workload, the Blackberry constantly beeping will be forgotten for at least a little while. In yoga, you learn to concentrate on you and that’s it.
    • Healthy habits may be a long lasting result of yoga. Weight loss has been associated with it as well as an increase in managing portion control and making healthier food choices. Yoga can set you on the right path in diet and in life.
